The North Carolina Postal History Society was founded in 1982 to promote, study, and educate the public about North Carolina postal history. In order to make information available to the public-at-large, which we have provided to our members from the society’s beginning, we have decided to place the society’s journals on-line through this web site. Full color digital copies of our journals, the NCPHS Newsletter, currently named the North Carolina Postal Historian, have been made as searchable PDFs that can be viewed on-line or downloaded as desired. Each issue since the first North Carolina Postal History Society Newsletter of February 1982 until modern times is now available as a separate PDF. These issues will include all but the most recent year (four journals), which will be added later. The current year’s journals are available only to our members.
Contained within these journals is a great deal of information not only on postal history, but also historical information related to North Carolina. We are working to create a way to do word searches through all the journals as an on-line feature. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before this also is a feature available to everyone who accesses our web site. For now, however, the journals to be viewed must be selected based on an issue number or year of issue.
