North Carolina Postmark Catalog Update
A long-term project is underway to update the catalog published by the North Carolina Postal History Society in 1996 with new postmark information from the nineteenth century, and to add all the known postmarks from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The North Carolina Postal History Society wants to share the development of the new catalog as it is being created, county by county, without waiting for the many years it will take to complete all 100 counties.

North Carolina Postmarks during the Stampless Period
The American Stampless Cover Catalog (ASCC), Volume 1, which is the standard reference for handstamp and manuscript townmarks of North Carolina during the stampless period, was last published in 1997. During the 17 years since the ASCC was published, much more information has become available. The North Carolina Postal History Society wants to share the most current information available related to North Carolina postmarks since it is not known when the ASCC will be updated. This project will update the ASCC listings for North Carolina postmarks used during the stampless period. Each handstamp postmark is illustrated, many of which were not shown in the ASCC. New pricing information also is available. Manuscript postmarks are listed but not illustrated.
